Murat Kacira Makes the Case for Controlled Environment Agriculture

The Southwestern US is in a drought and it is having a visual impact on the area's rivers and threatens the future of agriculture in Arizona. Controlled Environment Agriculture Center (CEAC) director and BE professor, Dr. Murat Kacira, discusses how controlled environment agriculture uses less water and allows crops to be grown year round in a controlled environment. He sees it as the future of agriculture in a world where water is becoming more scarce. It is especially important for us the Southwest, but can also be used as a model for other states, as the climate continues to change.
