We are excited you want to pursue a major or minor in the Department of Biosystems Engineering! Current University of Arizona students should follow the steps below to get started.
Incoming University of Arizona students should visit the Next Steps website to change their major: https://nextsteps.arizona.edu/. You will be able to add a minor after you complete new student orientation.
The Department of Biosystems Engineering and College of Engineering have set requirements for current students to meet before declaring the Biosystems Engineering major. Visit the College of Engineering advising page to apply to the Biosystems Engineering major as a current student.
Requirements:
- 2.00 minimum GPA
- Calculus I with a grade of C or better
- 12 or more UA credits of coursework within the Engineering curricula, with a GPA that meets the requirements for advanced standing in the requested major. If Calculus I was completed with a C, grades in required supporting coursework must be higher.
- The courses below represent the more common courses taken by UA Engineering students. For a list of courses specific to the major, please review the four year plans or contact the advisor.
- Schedule an advising appointment to review the degree requirements.
- After you confirm your interest, the advisor will submit the change of program form for you.
- The change should reflect in UAccess Student Center within 48 business hours.
