Sunday, April 10, 2022

The Banner Health All of Us Program reaches a milestone as it gathers 50,000 participants. The All of Us Research Program is working to create a diverse database that can be utilized by health researchers. This database will give researchers the ability to study health and illness on a large scale. One of our very own assistant professors in the Biosystems Engineering department is participating in this program. Haiquan Li, Ph.D. has taken the opportunity to explain how the database is helpful due to the quantity and diversity of information that can be retrieved through the All of Us database. He explained that through this database, researcher have the ability to save time and money which can allow for an acceleration in health and wellness discoveries. Dr. Li was able to utilize this program for his Valley Fever research. He described how helpful the program was when having to collect a large amount of data on a rare disease.  The full article about the "All of Us Program" can be found here: https://healthsciences.arizona.edu/connect/features/all-us-reaches-participant-milestone.
